The Territory Sales Representative is an Outside Sales position. Your task largely consists of making sales calls in person and on the phone not only to potential clients, but to existing ones as well. 

The Geographic sales territory is defined as the Central States, located primarily in North Central United States. Please See Attached Map. We are looking for an individual who lives in one of these states and is prepared to show us that they can eventually manage other sales reps in their area.

Don Abram Harris Cigars uses an online Customer Relationship Management ( CRM ) tool to help Sales and Administrative staff keep track of sales, customer activity and distribute leads. Because you will be selling Cigars, most environments and sales events will be in smoke filled areas. Sales personnel are expected to have an understanding of cigars and the cigar industry.

Don Abram Harris Cigars current sales areas are create by population size giving all representatives a competitive playing field. These areas can change and move based on performance and ease of travel to all areas within your territory. Travel is part of the job, while some follow up can be made by phone it is very important for territory sales representatives to be able to establish and maintain good relationships with clients in their designated sales areas; this is best done in person. Most sales calls will be using your own personal vehicle; However, travel during annual company sales tours and events will be provided. These events are not optional as they provide golden opportunities to build your sales pool.

Responsibilities

  • Make sales calls in person and by phone to new leads;
  • Some Cold Calling;
  • Maintain relationships with existing accounts;
  • Update and track ALL sales communication and activities in Company CRM;
  • Travel to individual sales calls;
  • Participate in company sales tours and events in your area and company participating Expos;
  • Keep up to date on cigar industry news, history and terminology;
  • Research events and activities in your territory that would be beneficial to cigar sales and provide information to Event Planner.

Qualifications & Skill Sets

  • Formal Sales training, a Degree in Sales ( Bonus );
  • 3+ years documented commission sales experience;
  • Familiar with Google For Business and Office “Type” Software;
  • Have a basic understanding of CRM software and it’s use;
  • It would be good if you smoke cigars or have in the past;
  • An Advanced understanding of cigars and the cigar industry is an advantage;
  • Ability to think on feet;
  • Self starter, motivator and forward thinker;
  • Reliable transportation.
